Share DT to another project with read-only permission

Dear OD colleagues,

Is it possible to share a Data Table to another project with read-only permission? If so, how can this be achieved?

Hi Tim,

the rights to access data tables is - like all rights in OD are - defined on project level. If you want to allow users to read-only you must put the users in a ONE DATA group and assign them the respective role (i. e. read-only) in this project. This also counts for the “receiving project” when you share a table from project A to project B, then users in project B should have read-only rights on data tables. They will then be able to see the shared table and load it in a workflow but won’t be able to modify the table or delete it. (side info: a user always has full rights on resources created by himself, this means if the user can only read the shared table, he could still load it, save it as a new data table and then would have full rights on this newly created copy).

Maybe the documentation of rights description also helps here: Rights Management in Detail : ONE DATA Service Center

As far as I know it is not possible to define the access right to a table per each data table.
Analysis Authorization might be an option, but I am not sure.

Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers,
Viola
