Hi all,

General Error: Unable to deploy job to spark execution context `Controlling'

Anyone familiar with this error message? It happens from time to time, re-executing the affected job fixes the issue. What is the error about and is there anything I can do to fix it for good? (“Controlling” is the domain)

Hey there,

this error indicates that there were issues in communication with the SEC assigned for your domain.
It is a very generic one, I’m afraid. One suspicion is, that it stems from internal network or other communication issues.
Are there any inner errors wrapped in this error message? There is also a chance that this behavior indicates a Bug on server side implementation or architecture.
(Since the error is most certainly not displayed inside a processor error dialog, the “inner error” information is not accessible via UI. If you have a WF Job at hand, we can look at, feel free to give me a ring! If you’re already familiar with the procedure of getting the JSON of WF errors from the server response via the F12 Debugger, feel free to investigate on your own).
