Availability of git integration for Apps on customer instances

With the background of this question: How to connect a git repo to apps for my instance :

What is the current status and “way to go” of using the git integration of Apps on customer instances? Is it something to just ask your friendly neighborhood DevOp/Guardian and then it will be set up (even at customer instances?) or are there additional issues to be clarified (what gitlab / gitea, licencing, …?)

Currently git for Apps is only for internal development of data products. Once we established it well enough to serve also as standard product feature it should be available to all ONE DATA installations of course. We are working on that.
